Common sense and minimal care are important in the life of your Highsmith Furniture pieces. We suggest –

Keeping furniture out of direct sunlight
Avoid extremely high or low temperatures and fluctuations in humidity that can cause season cracks. Room temperatures between 60 - 80° and humidity at 50% or above is best.
Dust in the direction of the wood grain, using a clean soft cloth.
If you feel polish is necessary, check with your designer or retailer for a product recommendation. Avoid silicone spray cleaners like Pledge and oils.
Never allow wet items, alcohol, melted candle wax, glasses or accessories to sit directly on the furniture. Coasters, pads or felt disks protect the finish. Never use rubber or plastic between an accessory and the wood since these can ruin a lacquer finish.
